We specialize in horse training at Lucacelli Equestrian. From basic ground manners all the way up to the upper levels, we use a very direct and common sense method with our horses. We build from the ground up and refuse to cut corners in any aspect in order to create willing, respectful and obedient horses. The health, happiness and trust of our horses is paramount in our training.
We create a custom training program specific to every client's goals, ability and budget. Our most basic training package starts with weekly training rides, all the way up to monthly full-training board. Training board consists of full care stall board at our facility with daily turnout, feed, hay, and training rides with Alexandra Lucas. Your horse's length of stay can be arranged according to your individual needs (minimun 5 days). Towards the end of your horse's stay we recommend doing a few lessons with Alexandra on your horse so you can continue their training at home. Contact us to discuss a training program that works for you!
Alexandra teaches dressage and jumping lessons to riders of all ages and experience level. She currently has availability for new students to trailer in with their own horses or take a bio-mechanics session on one of ours. With 12 years of experience teaching and coaching, Alexandra's teaching style is sure to bring a fresh perspective and push you closer to your riding goals.
We're proud to begin offering rider bio-mechanics lessons! With a combined background in riding, gymnastics, fitness and body-building, we've developed a program that targets imbalances and weaknesses in the body that typically go unnoticed. Our bio-mechanic lessons start on the ground with riding-specific stretches, and then transition to the lunge line where we work on balance, strength, mobility, and flexibility. By varying the degree of difficulty, these workouts are fantastic for people of all skill level, from your very first ride all the way up to those actively competing at the upper levels! No riding experience necessary, so even those looking for a way to develop strength, balance and mobility with low impact on the joints can participate!
We also frequently travel throughout PA, MD and VA for schooling and clinics. If interested in tagging along on these occasions, contact us!
We are now proud to offer our clients a complete thoroughbred restart program! With the sudden resurgence of the OTTB, our goal is to help make the transition from track to a second career as seamless as possible for both the horse and rider. Through our connections at various different tracks, we will help you find the perfect OTTB that will fit your needs and budget. The program then includes picking the horse up from the track, 30 days of let-down time to decompress from track life, and 30 days of professional training under saddle. By the end of our 2 month program your horse should have a basic understanding of the aids, be rideable in all three gaits, have been introduced to a variety of obstacles, and have solid ground and stable manners. The 2 month program includes full care stall board, individual or small group turnout, daily handling, and 1 month of full time training.
We take in a select few horses for training and resale each year. In an effort to give every horse the proper attention and time investment that it requires, we prefer to keep our sales string small.
